She has both a professional and personal interest in DCD (Dyspraxia) as her middle child, her 20 year old son, has co-ordination difficulties. Trying to address his difficulties and finding answers to problems first sparked her interest in the area. He is now successfully attending university.
She has produced an award winning video on Dyspraxia as well as running an innovative online Masters Degree programme with University of Wales, Newport in DCD for the past 5 years. The Dyscovery Centre is now a part of the University of Wales, Newport.
She is currently undertaking a wide range of research studies including a gene study looking at the potential causes of DCD and Dyspraxia and a research project looking at outcomes of young adults with DCD and Dyspraxia.
