Consumers Failing To Reach Vital Omega-3 Levels Needed For Daily Optimum Health
Experts claim confusion as to the best sources of Omega-3s and how much they should take is leaving consumers both shortchanged at the check-outs and potentially deficient in these essential fatty acids.
MOST supermarket foods fortified with health-enriching Omega-3 are leaving shoppers shortchanged and confused, says a panel of scientific experts.
The group, made up of leading academics, nutritionists and healthcare professionals, claim many fortified products, including milk, spreads and bread, often contain tiny quantities of the vital Omega-3 fats that consumers need to benefit brain, heart and joint health. 60% of shoppers meanwhile believe that such products contain enough Omega-3 to make a difference to their health.
