The Graph reveals:
- An adult would need to eat SIXTEEN slices of fortified bread just to reach their recommended HDI of fish oil Omega-3.
- By eating 16 slices of bread, an adult would also be consuming 7.4 grams of salt, nearly two grams more than the maximum daily amount as recommended by the Food Standards Agency (FSA)
- An adult would need to eat FIVE Omega-3 DHA Rich eggs every day to reach the recommended HDI. However the British Nutrition Foundation advises that it is safe to eat just ONE egg a day without adversely impacting your cholesterol levels.
- A consumer would need to drink a full one LITRE of fortified Omega-3 milk – the equivalent of over 13 bowls of breakfast cereal with milk to achieve their HDI1
